  1. In this case study, what segments were identified and what seg. strategies were implemented?  -The article had used demo-graphical and behavioral Marketing segments. Under Armour started to market the product as A men only sport wear and then they changed to a men and women when they rolled out the “I will what I want” line.  The campaigns used very gender specific marketing angles and really wanted to get the more healthier living lifestyle people.
  2. What are four to five things to remember when implementing segmentation strategies? – I think that you should consider your audience and target the people who are in the demographic you are searching for. I would try to target people in a specific group, based off of age or gender or interest, to find the customers you need. You want people to feel good about the product and if the whole idea is to have people living a better lifestyle and have your clothing on to help achieve that goal then that is your audience.
  3. Identify a new market segment that you have noticed recently. – I think that the one that comes to mind first is the shift to clean renewable energy. I see a lot of pro electric movements and I really believe we can achieve this goal. The sun is a giant energy source which is free to everyone and we should use it. To market this you can take a look at how Tesla is marketing their products and trying to get the movement to electric cars. You can target the younger generation because that is who will need to change it. The older people have lived here and are stuck in the old ways. It is up to us to change the world.

 

The importance of Brand Positioning

For a company that is starting out, it is important to have a solid Brand. Along with having a solid Brand you need to understand how to market the Brand in the correct way. Marketing your Brand is how you will get people to know who you are and let you gather a following. Brand positioning is important because your Brand should convey your company clearly and professionally. using the right colors and fonts is important. Also having the Brand marketed for the correct business the brand is doing.  Don’t have a Brand that sells dog food marketing at an electronic store. make sure what is being sold is clear to an average person just learning about your company.

Apple is a big company that was about to go bankrupt but, because of re branding it is now the leading tech. company. Marketing their products as a work of art and making them look better every year, the company is able to stay at the top and please their fan base. There is no denying that the company really did a good job re branding their products to appeal more to a younger crowd. Apple really re positioned itself well. they knew they wouldn’t have been successful if they didn’t change the way they were doing business and failing at getting the customers. The problem now is that the products are so expensive it’s like you are actually buying art in technology form.

Knowing what your company is and what it sells, you will be able to create a Brand that fits. The name of your Brand is the hard part in many ways. You have to figure out a name that describes your company and the products or services you are providing. Take Apple for example, the name is simple and easy to remember. They sells simple technology that anyone can use. An apple is a basic fruit but it stands for something more in a way. An Apple can be clean and nice looking, just like Apple company products. Apple has done well trying to stay true to their Brand. Creating a name for your Brand is important and there are a lot of factors to think about when creating one. Just remember, the name is the game. Make sure you choose a name that will be remembered.

Brand positioning is important and can make your company stand out of fail. You have to be careful. Always stick true to your brand and don’t let people get you wrong.
